a collaboration between Ida Schuften Juhl and Anne Keil for voice and electronics. it contains phrases from Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Bb and Händel’s Dixit Dominus Tactum Principium. the piece reflects on the intimidating moment it is, physically and mentally, to approach a big leap. in this context when a singer encounters a great tonal leap.


 

sound is an event. the ear picks up the information and analyses it. in a recording, the sound that catches our attention is often intentional sound events such as instruments being played or someone banging on a metal plate.

 

the piece slowly builds up while stumbling, halting and contemplating. voices search for their place among the noises, dissonant notes explore the tension and timelessness that grow out of anticipation.
